Glen Chappel 3rd Driver Announcement for Trass Family Motorsport NIES Season

Prior to commencement of the 2016 North Island Endurance series, as promised Trass Family Motorsport have announced their third driver/Ferrari combination.

Bay of Plenty based Glen Chappel will campaign the Trass Family Motorsport Ferrari 430 GT3 (previously driven by Richard Oxton) in a full series of the Mahindra North Island Endurance Series this winter.

Team Principal Gerald Trass said "Glen has proven his skill level during previous testing in our Ferrari 430 GT3. The team are excited to assist Glen in fulfilling his dream to race with Ferrari in the 1-Hour endurance rounds this year."

Chappel stated he has grown up watching Ferrari dominate in Motorsport, and the world GT3 scene. Starting in karts at a young age and progressing on to forms of racing throughout his teenage and early adult years, Chappel's previous race experience has enabled him to step up to the Ferrari 430 GT3 chassis with confidence.

"As a personal goal, this season is about gaining experience in the Ferrari 430 GT3, and enjoying the competitiveness that I will undoubtedly be exposed to in the 1-Hour NIES rounds. I hope to have a clean season, and possibly look at partnering with another driver in 2017 if all goes well" says Chappel.

Unlike Sam Fillmore and Danny Stutterd who will campaign TFM's 458 GT3 in both the North Island and South Island Endurance Series this winter, due to work commitments Chappel will only race in the North Island Series with TFM. This opens the opportunity for other drivers looking to race with TFM and Ferrari to take the wheel when the Endurance Championship heads south for 3 South Island Championship rounds.

Excited to see the teams full-suite in action this weekend at Taupo Motorsport Park, Trass added "we now have our eyes set to securing two additional combinations in the TFM 430 Challenge and GT3 to take on the South Island in Ferrari alongside the TFM 458 GT3."

Drivers interested in racing with TFM for the 2016 South Island Endurance Series should email gerald@tfmotorsport.co.nz for more information.
